Well, it’s been a bit of a hiatus, but this little segment is back. Here’s a couple of things I know about that might need sharing:
Etihad Holidays – Discover South East Asia (Vietnam)
What: Kids fly free! Starting October 1 until Nov 30 (I imagine there are blockout days like the Eid holiday), you can fly to Ho Chi Minh City and get 3 nights accommodation from 2699AED. One child flies free per one paying adult. It’s an incredible deal.

George Calombaris Brunch at Seafire and Dinner at Ossiano, Atlantis
What: A six-course meal prepared by the MasterChef star, which will represent dishes from George’s Melbourne restaurant, The Press Club. Expect modern cuisine mixed with new techniques, contemporary style and the finest ingredients! (my review of the Press Club here) AED 995 per person inclusive of selected beverages. If you can’t afford that, then you could try the Seafire brunch on the same day, where he will be presenting just a few of his dishes, and you’ll get to shake hands with the man himself (like I did last time he was here). That’s 550 AED including a bevvy of bevvies.

Visa Family Fun Package at Atlantis
Speaking of Atlantis, this is the last chance to take advantage of their Visa offer. For 1595, the whole family (2 Adults, 2 kids – sorry if you have more babies!) get to stay in the one room, get an 800AED voucher for dinner (sorry, Ossiano above not included), access to Aquaventure and more.

In other news that you probably know about anyway:
Dubai Music Week starts next week
Camel racing is back
La Serre – French Boulangerie and bistro in Vida (the old Qamardeen) Hotel, Downtown. Read Foodiva’s review here.
Anantara have opened on the Palm with four restaurants and a couple of bars (including an Australian Bushman’s Restaurant – I wonder if they serve witchety grubs…?)
As have Sofitel, with six restaurants, including a “healthy kids’ restaurant” in the Kids Club. I wonder if you can eat at the Italian deli, and ship the kids off there for lunch…?
And as of yesterday, the massive Conrad Hotel have opened, with four restaurants, including a new venture by Marco Pierre White, and a fab-sounding wine bar called Cave with Parisian soulfood (whatever that is)
