I’m sorry I keep on sending you instagrams of lavender fields in Provence, crystal blue waters of Malta, perfect chalky cool whites from Santorini and Mykonos and then posting about icy cold bottles of golden Cava in Barcelona.
I’m sorry, because I know that while I traverse the world, occasionally slipping myself into clear 25 degree water when I need to chill, all my friends are back there in 45 degree heat with 120% humidity and a beach that feels hotter than a warm bath.
I’m sorry, because occasionally, you look out your window at the ever-sunny sky, you think you might just be able to beat my pics and send me one of Jumeirah beach, which looks just as tantalizing as it does in finer weather. But we all know you’ll be sweating your little heart out while you’re taking the shot.
But now you can have a little one-up on me. In my first ever campaign post, I would like to give one of my favourite hotel brands a little nudge. I have never done one of these before, but these hotels are worth it, and I assure you that I will be taking up the offer at Zabeel Saray when I get back in September.
So here’s the juice:
Jumeirah Hotel group Book online at www.jumeirah.com/summerbreaks
As a GCC resident, you get 10% off the regular price at most hotels, and even 25% off at the Burj al Arab.
Then you get a swathe of benefits, including:
- Complimentary access to Wild Wadi Waterpark (for Dubai hotels only).
- Complimentary breakfast
- Exclusive private beach access
- Complimentary access to Kids Club
- Complimentary Wi-Fi and internet
- Complimentary shuttle buses to local Malls and attractions
- Air-conditioned beaches
(Ok – I’m fibbing about the last one, but I’m sure there’s a dude with iced towels at the ready)
Prices start at about 800AED ++ which is pretty good considering they will let you squeeze 2 kids into your room in some cases, and you get into Wild Wadi for free, saving about 800AED for a family of 4. Now sometimes the best prices are a little hard to find, so if you struggle, you can call them on 800 5863 4724 (if calling in Dubai) or 800 897 1439 (if calling from Saudi Arabia) or contact email@example.com.
I know what I’d be doing – checking in at 10am with the kids, spending all day in the chilled pool and the spa (with them at the kids’ club), then delivering them home for a night with friends/nanny while we party hearty at Music Hall. I’d then have a nice little sleep-in and massive breakfast, before I pop back home and pick up the littlies and head to Wild Wadi for the day.
You can also give their newish Abu Dhabi hotel a go. Etihad Towers has one of my hit-list restaurants in Li Beirut. It’s a Time Out award winner, and probably the best place in the Emirates to experience Lebanese fine dining.
And please get in touch and instagram all your lovely experiences, and I promise to get just a little bit jealous…
