tesch rieslingGerman Riesling is usually carries plenty of residual sweetness. Not this one. The “unplugged” refers to it’s raw nature. It’s a pleasure to see a wine like this on a Dubai shelf.

Nose is very clean – slightly mineral but overset with lime, mountain herbs and a light straw character that will probably toast up beautifully over time. The nose belies the palate somewhat, which is much richer. Some floral notes follow an intense citrus/apricot character – rare for a Riesling. Gorgeous cumquat finish and plenty of length, albeit without the minerality I would expect from the region. Very drinkable wine. Yum.
